Lyon Street North
Outdoor Living & Dining Spaces
The client wanted to preserve and showcase some plants and clear others to create well divided outdoor living and dining zones. A tricky task in a tiny side yard in urban downtown Ottawa but the dream was completely realized.
Some new cedar hedging was planted to create a natural fence and border the new outdoor living room.
Three different types of pavers were used for the central, inner border, and outer border to create the “natual outdoor area rug” look of the two zones.
Extensive grading was needed also to get everything level and slightly grading away form the house.
Stepping stones and pea stones were used to fill in the balance of the area and transition between the outdoor living room and dining room.
